I am a Director at the Isaac Centre for Public Policy (ICPP) at Ashoka University and the Content Editor of Ideas for India (I4I), an economics and policy portal of the International Growth Centre (IGC) at the London School of Economics. Prior to this, I served as Associate Director and India Lead for the DataDelta team at IDinsight. I have also held roles as Deputy Director at the Ashoka Centre for Economic Policy (ACEP), Ashoka University, and Assistant Director of Research and Strategy at the Tata Centre for Development (TCD), University of Chicago. Earlier in my career, I worked with the World Bank and J-PAL. I hold a Master’s degree in Development Economics from the University of Sussex and a Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy and Development Economics from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), including an exchange year at Victoria University, Australia.
Women in low- and middle-income countries tend to access healthcare less than men – and it is not because they have a lower need for healthcare. Among those who do reach healthcare facilities, are there gender differences in the medical treatment received?
